The concept of a secret garden as your private space, “The Courtyard”, embraces user and the built architecture as one entity. The user is connected with  courtyard space (may it be a garden, meditation space, outdoor oasis), as it serves to draw this exteriority into the internal living spaces and vice versa.

A design concept which is suitable for  long narrow sites, consists of two separate pods linked by the courtyard pathway. It is through this pathway where one discovers this concept of “The Secret Garden” or “oasis” as only uniquely experienced and belonging to the occupants.

The Courtyard becomes a focal point of everyday living, essentially rejuvenating the body and soul throughout the day. The living spaces and bedrooms are opened to the tranquil and serene backdrop of the courtyard, thus ideal for unwinding to the flow of the sunset whispers of the seaside or that of a rural/suburban landscape.

The interplay between the building and surrounding landscape seeks to compliment and enhance the lifestyle experience as owner and spatial interaction become intertwined. The design fuses ecological pragmatism to the tone of style and sensuality - one that breathes with the rhythm of everyday living.
